- 1/2 cup and 1 tbsp warm water (between 105-110 degrees)
- 1 1/2 tsp active-dry yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp honey
- 1 1/2 tsp olive oil (extra virgin preferably)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
*This recipe makes two nice-sized personal pizza crusts or one medium size crust (you can also halve the ingredients for one crust only)*
In a medium bowl, combine the water (must be lukewarm), honey, olive oil, and active-dry yeast. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes until it starts getting foamy. This lets you know that the yeast is fresh and activating.
Add in both flours and the salt. Knead the dough for about five minutes until smooth. After that, let the dough sit for twenty minutes in a lightly oiled bowl (it’ll rise more and be more easier to handle). After the twenty minutes; divide the dough in half, and on a lightly greased baking pan - form the dough with your fingers into pizza crusts. You can make the dough thick or thin to your liking..
Top the pizza crusts with your favorite pizza toppings, then bake at 400 degrees for around 10 minutes. Bake the pizza a couple more minutes if the crust is thicker. Enjoy!
