- 1 cup lukewarm water (should be around 110 degrees)
- 1 tsp honey or cane sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast (1/4 oz / 7g)
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup oat flour
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the warm water, organic honey, and active dry yeast using a fork. Let the mixture sit undisturbed on your counter for 5 minutes until a thick, frothy foam forms.
Pour your tablespoon of avocado oil or light olive oil and fine sea salt directly over the foamy yeast layer and combine. Stir in the all-purpose flour and oat flour using a sturdy spoon or fork until a shaggy dough ball forms.Sprinkle the dough lightly with flour (all-purpose) to prevent stickiness. Use your hands to knead the dough ball right inside the mixing bowl for 3 to 4 minutes until it becomes smooth, soft, and slightly elastic. Drizzle a tiny bit of extra avocado oil directly over the kneaded dough ball to keep it moist. Cover the bowl lightly with a clean, dry kitchen towel and let it rest on your counter in a warm place for 45 to 60 minutes until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Press dough out into a 1/2-inch thick round on the prepared baking sheet, add your toppings, and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden-brown - and the cheese is melted.
